So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.

The end of last year I did a photoshoot using model Nia Celine and had the most amazing time taking the images and then editing them.
I have a process of editing images and taking them to a level where they become less about the model and the moment and more about the vibe that comes through taking the image a new level for where it becomes more than just photography. It becomes more Art.
After I edited this image I immediately fell in love with it and that’s when I knew: This photo was no longer just a photo…it had become something of a captured moment that I titled simply ‘Marilyn’.
The way Nia leaned forward was awesome and the way her smile and laughter was captured in the image revealed to me ‘Marilyn’ in a pure ‘girl’ moment. A moment where a girl can…
Be a bit too much, free, rare, something beautiful to behold…simply herself.
Imperfection is Beauty, madness is Genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

This image was absolutely amazing as well. It’s not titled, but it could be a Marilyn runner up. Finding Marilyn in an image I took was a great moment of creativity especially since I wasn’t looking for her on purpose. I think this is when art is at its best. When something surprising comes across in your art its always the greatest feeling to know you were able to discover it.
I’ll see if I continue to have any Marilyn moments. She’s totally up in the media again with recent tv shows, artwork reproductions, websites, and fashion. And I’ve been personally seeing her in my own world running into a piece of Marilyn art in an unexpected location over and over again. Perhaps it’s a sign inspiring me to seek her out. Maybe I will do a Marilyn inspired photoshoot in the future and see what I can capture when I look for Marilyn intentionally. You never know how or when inspiration comes or what form the Muses will take…
travel Spritely…until next time.
