A Little Tale of Alice

I’m currently working on a project inspired by Alice in Wonderland.  This project was kicked off as a result of one picture I took with Brittany Meeker as the model that immediately said: ‘Alice’.

The inspiration for The Alice Project. It all started when my friend Brittany said she would model my designs and this unexpected shot came out.

The project was underway and so the creation of the Alice Dress began.  It took a few weeks or so to put it together, but the process of making it was tons of fun.

The next step was to get a model to take out in the dress to start gathering images for a possible story for my Alice.  Nia Celine became Alice and so out we went…here are some of the pics…

Alice Lost.
Alice Lost.

This shot was taken in the Olde Good Things in downtown Los Angeles.  Alice lost in a place where she has no idea why she is there and how to get out….

Alice in danger....where will she turn for advice?

Alice in danger…not sure where to go for advice.  Taken at the Last Bookstore in Los Angeles in front of the ‘Diagnosis’ installation created by Jena Priebe & David Lovejoy.

When in doubt...you sort it out...

Again in the Olde Good Things store in downtown Los Angeles.  Alice seeing if she can find any answers out of her predicament….

When opportunity knocks...Urban Cheshire and Alice...a meeting destined to happen

Alice making the inevitable trip to see Cheshire the Cat.  Can this guy give her any advice?

Alice Liberated....a meeting gone good....where will she find herself next...
Alice Liberated….a meeting gone good….where will she find herself next…

Alice finding the things she needed from Cheshire and taking matters into her own hands….where is she off to next?

More to follow on the Alice Project in the future.  The shoot went very well.  Next stop for Alice?  A meeting with the Red Queen?  The Mad Hatter?  Who knows.  I’ll keep you posted.  Let me know what you think of the shoot.  The hat and dress were created and designed by me.  Special thanks to the locations and artists that participated by allowing me to take pictures at their locations and in front of their artwork.

…until next time.  Travel Spritely.

    1. I know! Thanks. It because she’s totally Alice. lol. I was so glad she was able to participate in the project even though she wasn’t able to continue in the role when we actually started the shoots once the dress was designed. It’s become something interesting because with Nia now in as Alice I can see how maybe every girl has an Alice inside…just maybe a different Alice. So I can’t wait to see how the project progresses. Though most of the shots with Alice are already done.
