It’s that time of the year again. To have a difficult time to get checked in at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles. I signed up early in the year and go the go ahead as press. I’ve covered the show for 3-4 years. Every time I have some difficulties. Everyone wants registration in advance and doesn’t consider walk-ins like they use to this year. Last year I came in and had a hard time coming into the convention….I didn’t register, but I had some sort of registration completed that didn’t get signed up in time. I had difficulty getting in and I shouldn’t have had. AT any rate I did get in…..and this year it was no different even though I signed up in advance. I didn’t DO enough and that was awful. The experience of working with the registration desk ended up making me ill. I took their notes and went to Starbucks and the links given to me didn’t help and didn’t work. I walked a distance to follow their recommendations when they should’ve just looked me up on their system. I had already registered and gave them the code. Now it felt somewhat racist, but not totally. Either way I think what they are looking for they will not find. I can give some comments about the expo already. They should have a pick up table for the press that’s separate from the regular attendees. They didn’t. There was a lot of walking back and forth that I didn’t want. I hope they think about it for next year.
